Thank you for considering Carmello’s & Little Portugal to host your function. The following information is provided to give you an overview of our facilities and the options that you will have in making your arrangements. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call. One of our banquet managers will be glad to go over the information with you.
BANQUET MENU
With parties larger than 15 people it is necessary to choose a banquet menu. This allows the chef more time to prepare quality meals but still enables a nice selection. All banquet menus include non-alcoholic beverages (coffee, iced tea, and sodas), bread, house salads, dinner entrees, and dessert. Alcoholic beverages, gratuity, and tax are billed separately. For children under 12 a separate kids menu is available. Menu selections need to be made 3 weeks prior to the event.
Typically when preparing the menu, guests prefer to have an item from each category(i.e. pasta, chicken, veal, fish, etc.). In addition, many parties like to include an appetizer to round out the meal.
DRINKS
Coffee, tea, and soda are available with free refills
Alcohol is not included in the package pricing and is on a consumption basis. As far as wine, beer, and cocktails are concerned
there are many options. Most groups seem to favor an open bar check
which provides guests with a full range of choice. Others may choose
to offer beer and wine with dinner.
Cash-and-carry is also an option, but we discourage it because it
tends to slow down servers with the higher number of transactions.
For rehearsal dinners, we can also provide champagne for toasts if
desired.
TAX
The tax on restaurants in the City of Manassas is 9% (5% Commonwealth of Virginia sales tax + 4% City of Manassas meals tax).
GRATUITY
An 18% gratuity will be added to the bill for service. You are more than welcome to leave more if you feel the service was outstanding.
SEATING
There are three different seating areas available for large parties:
For parties of 50 to 150 different options are available. Please call for more information.
LITTLE PORTUGAL – (35 TO 50 PEOPLE)
A completely separate dining room allows a number of different seating arrangements depending on the number of people. The Little Portugal room is perfect for wedding rehearsals, birthday parties, family reunions, and corporate events. This room offers a private entrance and easy access to lavatories. This is a non-smoking area.
LOUNGE – (15 TO
25 PEOPLE)
A semi-private room allows some degree of flexibility. On most weekends, there is live music beginning around 8.00 p.m. The restaurant retains use of the bar area for guests and as a waiting area. This is a smoking area.
ALCOVE – (UP TO
20 PEOPLE)
A partially secluded area in the main dining room that
can hold one long table with a break in the middle for access. This
area is non-smoking.
BOOKING A RESERVATIONS
Once the information has been reviewed the next step is to contact a banquet manager and check for availability. To check for availability please contact us at (703) 368-5522 or by emaill at Miguel@Carmellos.com. In order to reserves a date and time a deposit of $300 dollars is necessary. The deposit is applied to your check the night of your function. Deposits are refundable up until four weeks before the function date.
Booking the Private Dining Room
On the weekends (Friday – Saturday) there is a minimum of 35 adults required to book the Little Portugal room. If minimum number is not reached Carmello’s and Little Portugal reserve the right to seat other guest in the room or charge the appropriate amount necessary to meet the minimum requirements. There is a 3hr time limit on all parties.
During the week (Sunday - Thursday) there are two different options for booking the Little Portugal room.
Option One: Requires picking one of the four banquets menus and a minimum of 20 adults.
Option Two: Corporate Meeting & Events Package. This package is perfect for meetings and presentations. The package includes a projector, screen, private dinning room that seats (10-45 adults), food, and drinks at a set price per person. This package is available Sunday thru Thursday. There is a minimum of 10 guests required. For more information contact a banquet manager.
